Guard Darius Garland has signed a multi-year contract extension with the Cleveland Cavaliers, Cavaliers President of Basketball Operations Koby Altman announced on Saturday.

Garland, a first-time NBA All-Star this past season, played in 68 games (all starts), setting career highs in minutes (35.7), field goal percentage (.462), points (21.7), rebounds (3.3), assists (8.6, sixth-best in NBA), steals (1.31), and free throw %. (.892, seventh-best in NBA).
Garland played a key role in Team Cavs winning the Taco Bell Skills Challenge championship during the 2022 NBA All-Star Weekend in Cleveland, and he then contributed 13 points to Team LeBron’s triumph in the All-Star Game.
Garland played the next 21 games with an average of 24.8 points and 10.0 assists.
He handed out a career-high 19 assists on March 4 against Philadelphia during that time, which was tied for the most assists by any NBA player this season (Chris Paul, twice).
Cleveland selected Garland with the No. 5 overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft.
Over the course of three NBA seasons, Garland has played in 181 career games (177 starts), averaging 17.4 points, 2.6 rebounds, 6.3 assists, and 1.09 steals in 33.4 minutes.
Additionally, he became the quickest Cavaliers player to reach 300 career three-pointers in his 147th game (January 9 against Golden State), and he currently holds the 11th-best three-point shooting mark in team history (384).
