Dane Rhodes, an actor, was born in 1972. Actor and director Dane resides in New Orleans, Louisiana.
He has made appearances on screens and on stages all over the world. Some of his favorite experiences included working with Roy Marsden and his friend David Lumsden on the world premiere of the play “Macbeth at the Gates” and meeting John Travolta, Scarlette Johannson, and Shanie Gable while filming “A Love Song for Bobby Long” (the movie that launched his journey into the film).
Rhodes was born and raised in Devon. He received a Humanities degree from the University of Glamorgan, which is now the University of South Wales, in 1994. In 1997, he returned to finish an MA in Creative Writing. This was the period when Don’t Tell Me the Truth About Love was written. He has worked a variety of jobs, including bartender in his parents’ pub, a teacher in Ho Chi Minh City, and a stockroom assistant for Waterstone’s. In addition to working as a postman, he has also worked on a fruit and vegetable farm. Rhodes was surprised and annoyed to learn that he had made Granta’s 2003 list of the Best of Young British Novelists (“It’s one thing to judge a Writer by stuff they’ve written, but to judge them on stuff they’re going to write is lunacy”) but also because he asked some of the others on the list to sign a letter of protest against the Iraq war, but some of them did not comply.
