Former Hearts of Oak star Dan Quaye has expressed his confidence in the Phobians’ ability to come out victorious in the upcoming Super Clash against Asante Kotoko. The highly-anticipated match will take place at the Baba Yara Stadium as part of matchday 31 of the Ghana Premier League.

Both teams have been facing challenges in terms of form, with Asante Kotoko suffering a recent defeat to Berekum Chelsea and Hearts of Oak narrowly losing to Aduana Stars at the Accra Sports Stadium. Despite these setbacks, Quaye believes that the unpredictability of the Super Clash makes it anyone’s game.

“Ghana football is currently facing some difficulties. In the past, the excitement leading up to a Super Clash was palpable around town. Taxi drivers would proudly display either Hearts of Oak or Kotoko flags and stickers on their cars, signaling the significance of the upcoming match,” Quaye reflected.

He added, “The performance of both clubs has been inconsistent this season, but in a Super Clash, form goes out the window. The pressure is always on the home team, which can work in favor of the away side. I have no doubt that Hearts of Oak will emerge victorious on Sunday, one way or another.”

Asante Kotoko currently holds the 10th position with 40 points, while Hearts of Oak is in 12th place with 38 points after 30 matches played. The Super Clash between these two storied clubs is a highly anticipated event in Ghanaian football, attracting passionate support from fans on both sides.
