On July 11, 1996, Dalton Chase Schultz, a tight end for the Dallas Cowboys in the National Football League, was born. He participated in collegiate football at Stanford.

Schultz attended South Jordan’s Bingham High School. In addition to football, he played basketball for the Miners’ athletic teams. As a senior, he reeled in 31 catches for 512 yards and nine touchdowns.

Throughout his high school career, he had 76 receptions for 1,120 yards and 12 touchdowns. He consented to play college football for the Stanford Cardinal in January 2014.

Stanford University offered Schultz a football scholarship, which he accepted. As a true freshman in 2014, he saw no action and redshirted.

He participated in all 14 games as Austin Hooper’s backup in 2015 as a redshirt freshman, catching 10 catches for 121 yards and one touchdown.

After Hooper announced his intention to enter the NFL Draft as a sophomore in 2016, he was designated the starter. He participated in all 13 contests and finished fourth on the team with 23 receptions for 222 yards and one touchdown. He received honorable-mention All-Pac-12 recognition and assisted in blocking for running backs Christian McCaffrey and Bryce Love.
