Dai Yi, a notable Chinese historian best known for his substantial contributions to the study of the Qing period, spent his whole career as a professor at Renmin University in China.

He escaped and took sanctuary in Hua Bei University, which subsequently changed its name to Renmin University of China, with the help of the CCP. He continued to work as a teacher at the university after receiving his degree.
Dai Yi was actively spearheading the project to complete the History of Qing, a comprehensive anthology that chronicles the history of the Qing dynasty, as of April 2020.
