Ghanaian Highlife music legends, Nana Acheampong and Daddy Lumba, have come out to dispel rumors of any bad blood between them.
In a recent interview on Accra FM, Nana Acheampong revealed that their separation was not due to any rivalry or animosity but was simply a result of pursuing separate solo careers.
The duo, known as the Lumba Brothers, formed a music group in the late 80s after meeting in Germany. However, they later decided to part ways and pursue their own paths in the music industry. This decision led to speculation among fans, with many assuming that money or women may have been the cause of their split.
Addressing these rumors, Nana Acheampong clarified that there was never any ill will between them. He emphasized that their songs were meant to entertain fans and were not intended as ‘diss tracks’ towards each other or any other artist. The perception of a feud between them was fueled by fan rivalries that emerged after their separation.
Nana Acheampong went on to explain that their split caused a division among fans, similar to the rivalry between football teams Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko. Despite the perceived animosity, he emphasized that there was no beef between himself and Daddy Lumba.
Recently, Nana Acheampong collaborated with Fameye on a new song titled ‘Ye Wo Nyame’ (We have God), showcasing that there is no bad blood between him and other artists.
The legendary musician’s clarification puts to rest the long-standing rumors of a feud between him and Daddy Lumba, proving that their separation was simply a professional decision rather than a personal conflict.
