A memorial mass has been held for Father Patricio Alfredo Sanchez Molinari, who died shortly after he was struck by a falling crucifix while he was celebrating Mass with his congregation in church.
Videos circulating online show the moment the large crucifix tipped forward and fell on the priest, hitting him directly on the head.
Father Molinari, had shared a very touching message with his congregation before his death. During the service, the 53 year old is quoted to have said “One day, all of us here will also die, and sometimes the time we’ve spent on things doesn’t have as much meaning as the time we spend with God”
Until his sudden demise, Father Molinari was the resident priest at Our lady Of Perpetual Help church in Guayaquil, Ecuador.
