CPP opens nominations for presidential primary

The Conventions People’s Party (CPP) has officially commenced the process of electing its presidential candidate for the upcoming 2024 general elections.

The party has announced that nominations are now open, with interested aspirants able to pick up nomination forms from Wednesday, July 24 to Friday, August 2, 2024.

Aspirants are required to obtain the nomination forms from the party secretariat at a cost of GH¢20,000. However, individuals who paid for nomination forms during the 2023 period are exempt from payment but still need to pick up the forms. The nomination fee for the upcoming elections has been set at GH¢300,000.

The CPP has also outlined the timeline for the vetting and campaign processes. The vetting of flagbearer aspirants is scheduled to take place from Tuesday, August 6, 2024, to Wednesday, August 7, 2024. Following the vetting, the campaign period will run from Friday, August 9, 2024, to Friday, August 23, 2024, leading up to the flagbearership election on Saturday, August 24, 2024.
