A week away from the widely reported protest against the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Countryman Songo, presenter of the afternoon sports program “Fire for Fire” on Adom TV and Asempa FM, is already giddy with anticipation.
The presenter Patrick Osei-Agyemang, who was born in Ghana, has been aggressively campaigning and gathering support for the protest on a few of the city’s main thoroughfares.
Adomonline.com was able to obtain a video of Countryman encouraging Ghanaians to participate in the protest while holding a banner with information about it.
Amid loud cries of more fire, commuters who seemed thrilled by his unique effort to garner support for the crucial national task cheered him on.
The exercise, which is set for Wednesday, February 14, is intended to hold GFA and the Ministry of Youth and Sports accountable.
Veronica Commey, Saddick Adams, Nana Yaw Kesse, and many other prominent journalists will be joining Countryman Songo, the primary convener.
At nine in the morning, demonstrators with the hashtag #SaveGhanaFootball are anticipated to gather at the Obra Spot at Nkrumah Circle. The demonstrations will culminate in Independence Square after marching through Accra’s streets.
The prominent participation of these notable individuals emphasizes the importance of the demonstration and the resolve of Ghanaians to alter the perception of football in their country.
