After Cote d’Ivoire won their third Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), Ivorians turned out in large numbers to celebrate.

During the 2023 AFCON, Emerse Fae guided the Elephants to victory as they overcame Nigeria in the Abidjan final.

William Troost-Ekong gave the Super Eagles the early lead, and goals from Franck Kessie and Sebastien Haller in the second half gave the home team the victory.

A trophy parade was added to the festivities on Monday, February 12, when President Alassane Ouattara proclaimed it a national holiday in honor of the accomplishment.

The Ivorian squad took center stage in Abidjan, where they celebrated with the supporters following their continental championship victory.

Similar to their previous AFCON victory in 2015, the Elephants prowled the streets of the nation’s financial hub.

To celebrate the Ivorians’ third championship, Sebastien Haller, who scored the game-winning goal in Sunday’s 2-1 final victory over Nigeria, and the rest of the team were seated on a truck customized with a three-star sign.

Fans gathered on bridges and avenues, many of them ignoring the intense heat to run alongside the winners’ mechanical chariot, as Monday was designated as a public holiday.
