Corin Lisa Tucker, an American singer, songwriter, and guitarist, was born on November 9, 1972. She is best known for her work with the rock group Sleater-Kinney.
Besides being a part of the alternative rock supergroup Filthy Friends, Tucker has also released music as a member of the independent rock bands Heavens to Betsy and The Corin Tucker Band.
Tucker has been in several rock bands since 1991 as a singer, guitarist, and composer. Since 1991, when she first sang in front of an audience as a member of a two-woman drums-and-guitar punk band with the amazing name Heavens to Betsy, Tucker “has been the most intriguing singer in pop music,” according to a 1999 article in Esquire.

Tucker was raised in Grand Forks, North Dakota, after moving there as a child. She was born in State College, Pennsylvania. Her mother was a medical technician and her father was a college professor in that place.
Her father is also a musician and folk singer. When she was twelve, she started taking piano lessons. She played with the group This That with friends when they were in high school in Eugene.
