American veteran actor Conrad Janis has passed away. Even though he officially passed away on March 1, 2022, his death was only confirmed on Wednesday (March 9, 2022).
Janis starred opposite Robin Williams in the sitcom Mork & Mindy, playing Fred McConnell, the father of Mindy McConnell (played by Pam Dawber) in 70 episodes from 1978 to 1982.
Mork & Mindy followed the antics of an alien named Mork (Williams) who lives with a woman named Mindy McConnell in a spin-off of Happy Days.
He also starred in movies like Murder, She Wrote, The Cable Guy, Baywatch, L.A. Heat, Frasier, and Bad Blood.
Conrad Janis’ cause of death
The Mork & Mindy star had passed away at the age of 94 due to organ failure from old age.
His business manager, Dean A. Avedon, confirmed the cause of his death in a press statement to PEOPLE Magazine.
“Conrad and his wife Maria were clients of mine for over 35 years,” Avedon said in a press statement.
“They were two of the nicest, respectful, and generous people I know. I have many fond memories of Conrad telling me stories from his past. He was an amazing man that led a truly amazing life,” he added.

Conrad Janis died just six months after the passing of his beloved wife Maria Grimm. Maria passed away in September 2021. The cause of her death has not been determined.

He has been married three times. The first was with Vicki Quarles. They married for 9 years, between 1948 and 1957. They had two children; Christopher and Carin Janis.
He married his second with Ronda Copland in 1979, and the two went their separate ways in 1983.
Janis married his third with Maria Grimm in 1987 until her death in 2021.
The actor is also survived by his two grandchildren, as well as his two great-grandchildren.
