Scottish professional golfer Connor Syme plays at the Drumoig Golf Center in Fife, Scotland. Connor had an outstanding amateur career, finishing eighth in the world. He shot a bogey-free 68 (3) in the second round to win the stroke play portion of the 2016 Amateur Championship at Royal Porthcawl and Pyle & Kenfig Golf Club, which was one of the highlights of his amateur career.
He also won the 2016 Australian Amateur Championships and took home the low medal. In addition, he led Scotland in scoring as they successfully defended their European Team Championship title, and he competed for Scotland in the Eisenhower Trophy. As a member of the Great Britain & Ireland team, Connor contributed to their success in defending the St Andrews Trophy.
