Daniel “Colt” McCoy, a quarterback with the National Football League’s Arizona Cardinals, was born on September 5, 1986.
McCoy was born in Hobbs, New Mexico to Steven Brad McCoy and Debra Kay (Woodruff) McCoy. He has two other siblings which includes Casey Burl McCoy (born July 15, 1991), a former American football quarterback for the Texas Longhorns.
His father served as his football coach while he was a student at Tuscola, Texas’ Jim Ned High School, which had a student body of 714. He was selected to the first-team of the state as a high school athlete and won the Associated Press 2A Offensive MVP award twice.
He ranked fourth overall in Texas high school history and is the Division 2A high school’s all-time leading passer. As a junior and senior at Jim Ned High School, McCoy also punted. He completed 536 of 849 passes (63.1%) for 9,344 yards and 116 touchdowns during his career.
McCoy played football for the Texas Longhorns under coach Mack Brown from 2005 through 2009 while he was a student at the University of Texas at Austin. From 2006 to 2009, Colt started four seasons for the Longhorns. He was the only player in school history to have won or shared the MVP award for the squad all four years.
Using the video scoreboard at Darrell K. Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium in Austin, McCoy proposed to his fiancée Rachel Glandorf, a former middle-distance track and field athlete for Baylor University, on January 12, 2010. The couple got married on July 17, 2010. They have a son and two daughters.

The Arizona Cardinals’ quarterback Colt McCoy agreed to a two-year deal. The new contract is worth $7.5 million with $6 million fully guaranteed. It also includes a $2,500,000 signing bonus and an average annual salary of $2,500,000.
