The Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD) has released a clarification on the widely leaked document suggesting the purchase of iPad keyboards for its Board of Directors.
The memo from the Information Systems Department asked consent for the agency’s Board of Directors to purchase iPad keyboards for GH¢4,500.00 apiece.
This caused a major outcry on and off social media.
However, in a statement issued on April 1, 2024, COCOBOD management stated that the document was only a proposal request and that it had not approved the acquisition.
It added that the request was made in response to the implementation of the “CONVENE” App to increase efficiency and minimize paper use during board meetings.
The statement stressed that the proposal is still seeking approval and that no transactions had transpired.
