Asante Kotoko’s head coach, Prosper Narteh Ogum, has received a vote of confidence from the club’s owner, His Royal Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, amid mounting pressure from fans for his dismissal. Despite a string of poor results, including six losses in their last seven matches and just one win in their last 10 outings, the club’s owner has chosen to stand by the coach.
Fans have been vocal in their criticism of the team’s recent performances, deeming them unacceptable and calling for a change in leadership. However, after a meeting with the coaching staff, players, and the Interim Management Committee (IMC), Otumfuo has decided to support Coach Ogum and urged the team to work diligently to reverse their fortunes.
As a result of the owner’s backing, Ogum will be on the sidelines this weekend as Asante Kotoko takes on Samartex FC in the Ghana Premier League at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
