The U-23 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier versus Algeria will feature eight foreign-based players, according to Black Meteors coach Ibrahim Tanko.
On Friday, March 24, 2023, Ghana will go for Annaba for the first leg of the competition. On Wednesday, March 28, 2023, Ghana will host the North Africans at the Baba Yara Sports stadium.
Emmanuel Essiam, a midfielder for FC Basel, Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, a player for Sporting Lisbon, and Emmanuel Yeboah, a player for CFR Cruj, are among the invited athletes.
Others are Alex Sarfo, Ernest Nuamah (FC Nordsjaelland), Zubairu Ibrahim (FK Jedinstvo Ub), Adams Salim (FC Cincinnati), a former Hearts of Oak player, and Daniel Afriyie Banierh (FC Zürich).
Before the first leg’s travel to Algeria, the aforementioned foreign-based players have all landed in Accra and joined forces with the local team.
