Chuba Robert-Shamar Hubbard, a professional American football running back for the National Football League’s Carolina Panthers, was born in Canada on June 11, 1999. At Oklahoma State, he participated in college football.
Hubbard was born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta, and then relocated to Sherwood Park. He played Canadian football at Bev Facey Community High School. He ran for 6,880 yards on 458 tries with 82 touchdowns over the course of his three years. He made a commitment to Oklahoma State University in order to play collegiate football there.
Hubbard participated in 13 games in 2018 after redshirting his first season at Oklahoma State in 2017. He rushed for 740 yards on 124 attempts and seven touchdowns. In 2019, he was back in the starting lineup for Oklahoma State and had a fantastic season, rushing for 2,094 yards on 328 rushes and 21 touchdowns.
Hubbard declared that he would go back to school for his redshirt junior year, defying rumors that he might enter the 2020 NFL Draft after this season. He received the Jon Cornish Trophy for the season as the best Canadian in NCAA football.
