Christian Atsu, a Ghanaian football player who played for Newcastle United and the Ghanaian national team, died on On February 6th, 2023.
Atsu played 64 times for the Black Stars and then scored 19 goals. He spent the majority of his career playing in the Premier League for clubs such as Chelsea Newcastle United and Everton.
Among the Ghanaian football community, Atsu was well-known and respected, and his untimely passing surprised and devastated many.
The final funeral rites for late Ghanaian footballer, Christian Atsu is being held on March 17, 2023, at the Forecourt of the State House.
