The minister for constitution and devolution, a mother of two, stated that she planned to “go on as normally, positively, and honestly as possible” throughout her treatment.

The 38-year-old Ms. Smith has served in Norwich North since 2009.
She claimed that she intended to inform people of her breast cancer and impending start of treatment.
Despite the impending four-week coronavirus lockdown in England, Ms. Smith stated that it was “quite clear” that the limits will assist non-Covid healthcare remain operational.
“There are several excellent sources of information and help out there, including Breast Cancer Now, as well as locally in Norfolk’s Big C and Keeping Abreast,” she said.
“You should continue to utilize the NHS, get your scans, show up for your appointments, and pick up your treatments.
Ms. Smith was the youngest MP at the time when she won the Norwich North by-election in 2009 at the age of 27.
When she was 29 years old, she was appointed as the government’s youngest minister.
