Left back Patrick Aseidu has realized a lifelong dream by signing with Asante Kotoko. The 21-year-old defender, formerly of Berekum Chelsea, had a standout season in the Ghana Premier League, playing in 23 matches and contributing one assist.
Aseidu inked a three-year contract with Asante Kotoko after passing a medical examination on Friday. He will be vying for the left-back position with Sudan’s Esmat Abdulhamid in the upcoming season.
Overjoyed by the opportunity, Aseidu expressed his excitement, stating, “I am excited because Kumasi Asante Kotoko is a big team in Ghana for me to be a player to get the chance to come to Kotoko I am excited. I have looked forward to this moment for a long time when I was a kid I travel with my father from Koforidua to come and watch football here. I remember telling my father that one day I will join Kumasi Asante Kotoko, it is something I have waited for a long time.”
Aseidu is set to strengthen Asante Kotoko’s defense in the forthcoming 2024/25 season. He will join his new teammates in preparation for the season and is expected to play in the club’s friendly match against Medeama next month.
