A robot has broken a seven-year-old boy’s finger during a chess match that was played in Moscow last week, Russian news outlets report.
“The robot has broken the child’s finger,” Sergey Lazarev, who is a Moscow Chess Federation President, told Tass news agency about the incident that happen. “This is of course bad news to hear.”
A video that was shared on social media shows that the robot has taken one of the boy’s pieces. The boy then makes his move, and at that moment the robot grabs his finger.
Four adults who saw what has happened to the boy quickly rush to help the boy, who is eventually freed by the robot and was then ushered away by his helpers.
Mr Lazarev then explain that the machine had played many previous matches without incident.
The boy was able to finish the final days of the tournament in a cast, Tass reports.
