After missing out on Jules Kounde, Chelsea is reportedly planning a move for Wesley Fofana, a defender for Leicester City. With the news that Barcelona appears ready to steal the Sevilla star from under their noses, the Blues have suffered a significant transfer blow.
Initially, they had reached an agreement on a £55 million transfer for the 23-year-old France international, hoping to put an end to their year-long search for the defender. However, Barcelona moved to take their place, leaving Thomas Tuchel looking for a replacement.
After losing both Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen for nothing when their respective contracts expired, he is in desperate need of reinforcements.
After acquiring Kalidou Koulibaly from Napoli, he was able to strengthen his defensive unit.
At the moment Tuchel is now trying to sign Fofana, a French U21 international who plays for Leicester. Interestingly, the 21-year-old recently extended his deal with the Foxes to 2027.
