According to reports, Chelsea is considering making a move for Arsen Zakharyan, a promising player for Dynamo Moscow.
Roman Abramovich, the owner of Chelsea, represented Russia for nearly two decades until the club was sold earlier this year.
That was a result of Abramovich’s connections to Russian President Vladimir Putin, who six months ago gave the order for an invasion of Ukraine.
There are presently no Russian players registered to a Premier League team, albeit that is not the only reason.
Sport Express, a Russian publication, claims that Chelsea’s interest in Zakharyan could cause that to change in the future.
According to the report, Chelsea is willing to meet the 19-year-release old’s clause, which is reportedly set at €15 million (£12.7 million).
In his brief professional career, Zakharyan has already made a name for himself with Dynamo, scoring 13 goals and dishing out 16 assists in 52 games across all competitions.
The youngster has already received four caps for the senior national team and can play in any position in the middle of the field.
