Former NFL quarterback Troy Aikman’s mother, Charlyn Aikman, passed away last week and he shared the news in a heartbreaking Instagram post that served as her digital obituary.

Aikman has returned to the booth for the first time since the death of his beloved mother.
Charlyn Aikman was the mother of former NFL quarterback Troy Aikman. She was born in Long Beach, California, in 1942. She got married to Kenneth Aikman and birthed Troy on November 21, 1966.
Charlyn also had two daughters, Terri Starns and Tammy Powell. All three of her children were very close to her throughout life. She had a strong bond and a wonderful relationship with all of her family members.
