Charles Robert Watts was an English musician who rose to fame as the Rolling Stones’ drummer from 1963 until his death in 2021. Watts’ first records were jazz recordings; he recalled having 78 RPM records of Jelly Roll Morton and Charlie Parker.

Wife

Watts married Shirley Ann Shepherd (born 11 September 1938), whom he had met before the band’s success, on 14 October 1964. In March 1968, the couple had one daughter, Seraphina, who gave birth to Watts’s only grandchild, a girl named Charlotte. They were married until he died.

In the 1980s, Watts toured the world with the Charlie Watts Orchestra, which included Evan Parker, Courtney Pine, and Jack Bruce, who was also a member of Rocket 88.
