Charlie Barnett is an American actor who played the role of firefighter/paramedic Peter Mills on the NBC program Chicago Fire from 2012 to 2015. Among his numerous leading parts on Netflix are those of Alan Zaveri in the comic Russian Doll, Ben Marshall in Tales of the City, and Gabriel Miranda in the suspenseful You.
He was raised till the age of seven on a sailboat in the vicinity of Longboat Key, Florida. When he was six years old, he had his theatrical debut. He went on to participate in numerous operas and musicals with the Sarasota Youth Opera.

Bob and Danee Barnett adopted Barnett and his sister. His adoptive father is a boat builder from Minnesota, while his adoptive mother is from Utah and of Swedish ancestry. Below is an interview where he talked about his beloved sister. The interview was done by Katina Goulkaos.
Interviewer: How did you get into acting?
Charlie Barnett: At the time when I grew up in Sarasota, there was a big art community and my dad is a builder. My sister and I started sailing at a young age, we pretty much grew up on a sailboat. However, I was a horrible sailor and my sister was amazing. I think this made me realize that I needed to find something that I was passionate about.
