Charles Taylor rules out coaching career, embraces role as football pundit

Former Ghanaian football star Charles Taylor has made it clear that coaching is not in his future plans. Instead, he is fully embracing his role as a football pundit, where he provides critiques and recommendations for the improvement of Ghanaian football.

Since retiring from the game, Taylor has been a regular guest on various radio and television football programs in Ghana. He believes that as a pundit, he can make a valuable contribution to the sport he loves. Taylor is not one to hold back when it comes to expressing his opinions, particularly when it concerns the proficiency of coaches.

Having played for prestigious clubs like Accra Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko, Taylor looks back on his career in Ghana with pride. In a recent interview with Peace FM, he stated, “No coaching is not for me what I do is talk about when coaches go wrong I talk about it that is my job. If you are a coach and you are not competent I will tell you.”

Taylor emphasized that he has had the privilege of being coached by some exceptional individuals during his playing days. He mentioned respected figures like coach Afranie and Jones as examples of top-notch mentors he has worked with. “I saw better coaches if you are a coach and you don’t deserve it I will tell you,” he added.

With his passion for the game and his willingness to speak his mind, Charles Taylor continues to be a prominent figure in the Ghanaian football scene. His insights and analysis as a pundit are valued by many fans and followers of the sport.
