Charles Taylor, former Hearts of Oak star wants club to be relegated from Ghana Premier League

Former Hearts of Oak legend, Charles Taylor, has suggested that it may be beneficial for the struggling club to face relegation from the Ghana Premier League at the end of the 2023/24 season. The Phobians have been facing a tough time in the top-flight league and are in danger of dropping down a division.

Following Hearts of Oak’s recent defeat to Asante Kotoko, Taylor expressed his concerns during an interview with Angel FM in Accra. He believes that the team’s current board should be dissolved as he feels there is a lack of the famous ‘Never Say Die’ spirit among the players.

“It may actually be a good thing for Hearts of Oak to face relegation. The supporters are suffering and the team needs to make significant changes. Relegation could be the wake-up call they need to get things back on track,” Taylor explained.

Hearts of Oak currently sit in 14th place on the league table, just two points above the relegation zone. Their next match will be against Nations FC, where they will be looking to secure a much-needed victory. Only time will tell if Taylor’s suggestions will come to fruition and what the future holds for the historic club.
