Chandran Nair was a Singapore pioneer poet and publisher. He was an active and prominent poet and publisher from 1960 to 1980 when he was based in Singapore, and he is best known as the writer of Reaching For Stones in 2009.
Chandran Nair was born in Kerala, India, in 1945, and moved to Singapore at the age of seven and studied at Raffles Institution, where he published his first poems in the school’s annual journal The Rafflesian, and then at the University of Singapore, where he received a Master of Science in marine biology.
