The Central Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has urged party members to work together in unity and remain vigilant as they prepare for the 2024 election.
In a recent statement, Prof Richard Kofi Asiedu emphasized the importance of the June 4th commemoration in motivating party supporters to strive towards their goal. He pointed out that last year’s commemoration at Ganga in the Central Region resulted in a significant victory for the NDC during the Assin North by-election.
This year, the celebration took place at Enyan Denkyira in the Ajumako Enyan Essiam constituency, with expectations of securing victory for the NDC in the upcoming December 7 poll.
During the event, George Kweku Rickets-Hagan, speaking on behalf of Minority Leader Dr. Cassiel Ato Baah Forson, highlighted that the issues that led to the June 4th Uprising are still prevalent in the country under the current government. He firmly stated that a democratic approach, rather than an uprising, is needed to vote out the Akufo-Addo-Bawumia-led government and bring John Mahama back to power to save Ghana.
The call for unity and vigilance among NDC members comes amidst growing concerns about electoral integrity and the need to safeguard the democratic process. As the 2024 election approaches, the NDC is gearing up to challenge the current government and secure a better future for the country.
