Canadian music icon Celine Dion opened up about her battle with a rare neurological disorder called Stiff Person Syndrome in a recent interview with Vogue France.

The 56-year-old singer first revealed her health condition in December 2022, leading to the cancellation of all her scheduled shows for 2023 and 2024.

Dion admitted that she was not strong enough to tour after the diagnosis.

In her interview with Vogue France, Dion shared that she is currently managing her condition by undergoing rigorous therapy sessions five days a week.

She described the treatment as a combination of athletic, physical, and vocal therapy.

While there is no cure for Stiff Person Syndrome, Dion remains hopeful for a breakthrough in scientific research that could lead to a cure.

The condition, which affects twice as many women as men according to the US National Institutes of Health, causes stiff muscles in the torso, arms, and legs, with triggers like noise or emotional distress leading to spasms.

Despite her ongoing battle with the disease, Dion remains optimistic about the future.

When asked about the possibility of returning to the stage, she stated that she “can’t answer that” at the moment.

As one of the most successful music artists of all time, Celine Dion’s candid revelation about her health struggles serves as an inspiration to many facing similar challenges.

Her resilience and determination to keep pursuing her passion amid adversity is a testament to her strength and spirit.
