Lauren Laverne is a radio DJ best known for her work on BBC Radio 1 and Radio 6. She currently presents Desert Island Discs. Her career started when she formed the band Kenickie with her college friends.
She was born in Sunderland and her birth name is Lauren Gofton but she adopted Laverne as a stage name when Kenickie formed.
