In a shocking development, two house helps working for Sanitation Minister Cecilia Abena Dapaah and her husband, Daniel Osei Kuffour, are facing charges at an Accra Circuit Court for allegedly stealing huge sums of money and valuable items from the couple’s residence in Abelemkpe, Accra.
The accused individuals, 18-year-old Patience Botwe and 30-year-old Sarah Agyei, have been charged with conspiracy to commit a crime and five counts of stealing.
The alleged thefts occurred between July and October 2022 and involved stealing personal effects such as clothes, handbags, perfumes, and jewelry worth US$95,000 from Madam Cecilia Abena Dapaah.
In addition, Ms. Botwe is accused of stealing six pieces of Kente cloth valued at GH¢90,000 and six sets of men’s suits worth US$3,000, which belonged to Minister Daniel Osei Kuffour.
The court also learned that three other people, including Ms. Botwe’s current and previous boyfriends, as well as her father, are being charged with receiving stolen property.
The story has sparked widespread interest, and investigations are underway to discover the entire scope of the alleged crime.
The accused are scheduled to appear in court again on August 2, 2023, while the procedures continue.”
