In a tragic incident that unfolded today, Thursday, June 22, at Ablekuma Fanmilk, a suburb of Accra, a police officer has lost his life during an attack on a bullion van by four armed robbers.
Circulating CCTV footage on social media captures the entire horrifying incident. The video shows four individuals on a motorbike ambushing the bullion van at a filling station.
One of the assailants approaches the police officer from behind and shoots him while he attempts to disembark from the van.
Confirming the incident, the Ghana Police Service stated that the police officer accompanying the bullion van was fatally wounded.

“The Police are on a manhunt to arrest a gang of four robbers who attacked a bullion van at Ablekuma Fanmilk, a suburb of Accra, and shot the Police escort who has unfortunately passed on,” a statement from the police read.
The Police Service expressed their condolences to the family of the deceased officer and extended their thoughts to all personnel of the Police Service. They also assured the public of their commitment to apprehending the armed robbers and ensuring that they face justice.
