Cassidy a student of Buckingham Browne and Nichols school died on Wednesday. She is reported to have died in a boat accident in Aruba during a family vacation.
She was 13 years old. Cassidy was a native of Massachusetts. Her parents announced her death on Friday after confirming with school authorities.
Cassidy transferred from Milton’s Pierce middle school to Buckingham Browne and Nichols at the request of her brother. The head of the school, Jennifer Price confirmed that she was a hockey player and also competed in gymnastics.
Her friends, classmates and neighbors describe her to be a kind hearted and joyful kid. One of her neighbors said she made the world a better place with her smiles.
In a twitter post, her family described her as one with a genuinely kind hear, bright mind, beautiful mind and joyful.
As at Sunday morning, a GoFundMe account opened on behalf of her family generated over $17,000 off a $20,000 target.
