Cameron Brate, a tight end for the National Football League’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers, was born on July 3, 1991. (NFL). At Harvard, he was a collegiate football player.

Brate was born and raised in Naperville, Illinois, and went to Naperville Central High School, where he played basketball and football in his senior year.

Brate went to Harvard University and played football there. He sat out the 2010 season and played in the 2011 through 2013 campaigns.

Brate was an undrafted free agent who was signed by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on May 21, 2014, to a three-year, $1.53 million deal with a $3,000 signing bonus.

Brate and Ian Thompson battled it out for a roster place as a backup tight end during training camp. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers dismissed Brate on August 30, 2014, but the following day added him to their practice squad. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers added Brate to their active roster on November 25, 2014. After being added to the active roster, head coach Lovie Smith placed Brate behind tight ends Austin Seferian-Jenkins, Brandon Myers, Luke Stocker, and D.J. Williams on the depth chart.
