On February 27, 1992, Callum Eddie Graham Wilson, an English striker for Newcastle United of the Premier League and the England national team, was born.
In the Coventry City academy, Wilson started his professional career. He made his first-team debut on August 12, 2009, as a substitute in a 1-0 League Cup loss to Hartlepool United. He accepted a professional deal on March 16, 2010, which would have kept him with the organization for an additional season. Wilson was the first member of the Coventry City youth team to get the title of apprentice of the month on a national level in March 2010.
Wilson made his league debut in December 2010 when he came on as a substitute against Queens Park Rangers. He made his 2012–13 season debut by taking the place of Carl Baker in a 1-0 loss against Carlisle United.
At the start of the 2013–14 season, Wilson was given a berth in the starting lineup. Wilson and Leon Clarke teamed up as a forward pair, and after just 11 league games, Wilson scored 10 goals, which led League One. Despite missing the first two months of 2014 due to a dislocated shoulder, he finished the season as League One’s third-leading scorer with 22 goals and earned a berth in the League One PFA Team of the Year.
