On December 25, 1952, Guyanese-American actress Carol Christine Hilaria Pounder was born.
She has received four Primetime Emmy nominations for her work on The X-Files, ER, The Shield, and The No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency.
Pounder served as one of the readers for the HBO film Unchained Memories: Readings from the Slave Narrative (2003). She appeared in the Syfy series Warehouse 13 from 2009 until its end on May 19, 2014.
Pounder also starred in the canceled 2009 Fox sitcom Brothers. Pounder was nominated for an Emmy for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series for her work in the BBC/HBO series The No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency.
