Carol Christine Hilaria Pounder, a Guyanese-American actress, was born on December 25, 1952.

In recognition of her work on The X-Files, ER, The Shield, and The No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency, she has been nominated for four Primetime Emmy Awards.

In the television dramas ER (1994–1997), The Shield (2002–2008) on FX, Warehouse 13 (2009–2014), and Sons of Anarchy, Pounder played Dr. Angela Hicks, Captain Claudette Wyms, Irene Frederic, and District Attorney Tyne Patterson, respectively (2013–2014). She played medical examiner, Dr. Loretta Wade, in the police drama series NCIS: New Orleans from 2014 until the show’s conclusion in 2021.

In the animated series Justice League Unlimited (2004–2006), Pounder also provided the voice of Amanda Waller, a part that she has since reprised in other DC Comics-related media.
