Buduburam demolition: Liberians convert basic school into trading center

Following the recent destruction in Buduburam, a few displaced Liberians converted the Point Hope D/A Basic School into a trade hub.

In addition to trading, the displaced inhabitants use the school compound for other activities like pounding fufu.

To purge the neighborhood of miscreants, the Buduburam demolition activity impacted around five thousand people.

After the demolition exercise, several citizens of Liberia took control of the school, trapping the students inside. The Central Regional Security Council gave the inhabitants an order to leave the schools on Thursday.
However, they have declined to leave the school’s grounds, claiming they have nowhere else to go.

Adom News visited the school and found that some squatters were trading within the building, while others were busy pounding fufu.
