Buddy was born in Lubbock, Texas, on September 7, 1936. He was raised in a musical family and learnt to play the guitar and sing with his siblings. Except for his father, Lawrence Odell, every member of the family could sing and play an instrument. The brother of Holi took part in a community talent show. A member of the Tabernacle Baptist Church’s family was baptized by Buddy Holly. Holly was influenced by the music of Hank Williams, Jimmy Rodgers, Hank Snow, and Bob Wills when she was a young girl.
