The Bible Society of Ghana (BSG), known widely in Ghana, has launched an outstanding mobile application called the Trauma Healing App. This is mainly due to their activities, such as the Trauma Healing Project, which is aimed at restoring hope and comfort to those who suffer pain and other forms of the aforementioned.
It is known that the said app, however, is a Bible-based program for churches and communities in an entire society or as a whole. This is also for mental health principles as well.
Meanwhile, according to the non-organizational or denominational Christian entity, Trauma Healing Institute has seamlessly integrated its program into the mobile application, allowing lots of users to have full access to control the system over and wherever they are.
This fusion, it said, not only enhanced convenience but also reflected a total commitment to providing and making trauma healing readily available and accessible through all channels of digital means.
Seeking professional and exceptional help, be it a clinical psychologist or even a counselor, as in Christianity, is very important, as strongly noted by Mrs. Amissah-Arthur.
However, the Ghana Trauma Healing Convener said embracing one’s spiritual beliefs could contribute to overpowering trauma, providing an opening for reliance and, precisely, hope.
She also stated the universal nature of trauma, emphasizing that it was an inevitable part of human experiences.
In his keynote address, the head of the Psychology Department of the University of Ghana, Rev. Professor Joseph Osafo Adu, specified the importance of relying on faith as a Christian or an individual during life’s challenges.
He encouraged every single user to try the application and see how it works. Meanwhile, he also noted that he has had a personal traumatic experience with a child who still lives with him, reiterating the importance of managing trauma effectively.
A greater sense of social connectivity is something he also advocates for, along with asking for help, growing, and most importantly, being creative.
