The Member of Parliament for North Tongu, Samuel Okudjeto Ablakwa, has remained resolute in his pursuit of justice despite the responses given by the Minister of Agric and owner of Rock City, Bryan Acheampong, regarding the sale of stakes in hotels owned by the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT).
Ablakwa stated that Acheampong’s explanations have only strengthened his conviction that something is amiss with the transaction. According to Ablakwa, Acheampong has confirmed that he is the sole beneficial owner and shareholder of Rock City, and has failed to seek permission from the Speaker of Parliament.
In a recent interview on TV3’s Key Points, Ablakwa revealed that he has received a formal response from CHRAJ (Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice) indicating that they will act on the matter. He expressed concern that despite the petition, SSNIT is moving forward with the transaction.
This comes after Bryan Acheampong responded to allegations by Ablakwa on May 21, denying any wrongdoing in Rock City’s proposal to purchase 60% of shares in SSNIT’s hotels. Acheampong expressed his displeasure during a joint interview with Ablakwa on Joy FM, accusing him of trying to destroy him and Rock City with false and baseless allegations.
As the issue continues to unfold, Ablakwa remains undeterred in his quest for transparency and accountability in the controversial transaction involving SSNIT and Rock City.
