Newcastle United have completed the signing of midfielder Bruno Guimaraes from Lyon.
The club announced on Sunday, their third signing since being taken over by a consortium led by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund in October.
The move for Guimaraes follows the arrivals on defender Kieran Trippier from Atletico Madrid and striker Chris Wood from Burnley.
Amanda Staveley, Newcastle’s director, is currently in Jeddah alongside Howe and the first-team squad.
It is understood a transfer meeting was held last Monday to determine their recruitment strategy for the final week of the window.
