The sudden demise of the former Veep of the Republic Of Ghana, Amissah Arthur has hit the nation hard and affected family and friends, but none more so than the one who served with him in office, H.E former President John Dramani Mahama.
When the death of his former Vice and also a former President of the Bank Of Ghana reached John Mahama, he was quick to pay a glowing tribute to the former 2nd Man of the land and his immense achievements to his administration.
He took to picture-sharing website Instagram and posted a picture of him and the former Veep and said:
‘‘ I learnt about the untimely demise of my brother and friend, Vice President Kwesi Bekoe Amissah Arthur with shock and deep sorrow.
As Vice President of the Republic of Ghana, H.E. Amissah Arthur actively supported my administration to put Ghana on the path of sustainable socioeconomic growth and development. He was an admirable personality in both Ghana and in the NDC because he served with distinction in the many roles he played in the development of our country. Paa Kwesi was a quintessential gentleman who brought immense knowledge, decency and integrity to governance and public service. His passing has left a huge void in our nation and we are overwhelmed with grief.
I extend my deepest condolences to his wife, Mrs. Matilda Amissah Arthur and his children as well as his extended family.”
This glowing tribute from the man who knew the late vice president closely goes to show the level of respect and trust they had built on their journey together as former President and Vice respectively.
