Authorities are looking for a metro passenger who put on a gas mask, used a gas canister, and then started shooting at commuters as a train rolled into a Brooklyn subway station on Tuesday morning, hurting at least 16 people.
The shooter was described as a 5-foot-5-inch Black male with a hefty build who was wearing a green work vest and a gray hooded sweatshirt as he fled the scene.

As a Manhattan-bound N train approached the 36th Street subway station in Brooklyn’s Sunset Park neighborhood just before 8:30 a.m., a mass shooting occurred.
Witnesses on the subway said smoke filled the train as it traveled between stations, causing pandemonium on board and leaving streaks of blood on the floor.

The gunman’s name is unknown, but investigators are going through videos and chatting with witnesses to piece together evidence that will help them find him.
The accused gunman was described as a male standing 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighing 170 pounds, according to police.
According to law enforcement officials, police are seeking a U-Haul van with Arizona license plate AL31408 that may be linked to the suspect.
