Liam Brown, a 25-year-old British male, entered a guilty plea to charges of inflicting needless suffering on a protected species and sexual intercourse with a living animal.
A baby calf was the victim of sad animal mistreatment in the event, which happened on a farm in Burton.
The incident occurred last summer and came to light when Brown was caught in the act by farmers who had set up alarms and surveillance cameras to monitor their livestock.
The farmers had suspected the abuse for some time and took action to catch the perpetrator.
The situation took a bizarre turn when it was revealed that the accused, Liam Brown, was known to the farmers due to his family’s prior employment on the farm several years ago.
This familiarity made the case even more disturbing. Prosecutors were able to establish Brown’s guilt through DNA evidence.
Samples collected from the cow were matched to Brown’s profile, leaving little room for doubt.
During his court appearance, Brown reportedly displayed emotions of remorse and sadness. His sentencing is scheduled for next month.
