According to reports, a British father convicted of raping his own daughter has been released after DNA evidence vindicated him.
Tammi renounced her right to secrecy to argue her father’s innocence after he was jailed and to express her fear of becoming pregnant as a result of the incident.
Mr. Forsythe has been released after DNA testing on sperm found on her clothes revealed it was not his, according to an investigating court in Heraklion.
“Justice had spoken,” police stated in Hersonissos, the nearest town to Malia, where the crime allegedly occurred.
The mother of four had been drinking hard with her father, Philip, in a bar.
Philip Forsythe was arrested when Tammi, his 33-year-old daughter, said she was pulled from an alleyway and into a bush on Saturday.
Tammi said that the Greek police arrested her father after seeing CCTV footage of them in the tavern.
She said her father was attempting to return her to their hotel, but investigators thought the video indicated improper sexual conduct.
Tammi, who lives in Hull with her father, claimed they returned to their hotel at 5 a.m., but she collapsed into an alley and was too drunk to get up.
She noticed a guy standing above her at 7.15 a.m.
“He grabbed my legs and took me into a bush, where he raped me,” the woman told The Mail Online.
“The whole situation left me dumbfounded, and when it happened, I couldn’t move for almost 15 minutes because I was too afraid.”
