Brigman Owens was an American NFL star who died on June 21, 2022.
He played safety for the Dallas Cowboys and Washington Redskins in the National Football League. In 2012, the organization recognized him in its Ring of Fame and named him one of the 80 greatest players in franchise history.

Owens was a defensive captain for the 1972 squad that lost to the unbeaten Dolphins in Super Bowl VII, and he scored two defensive touchdowns in Washington’s 72-41 triumph against the Giants in 1966 when the club was the highest-scoring in NFL history.
After leaving the NFL, Owens attended law school and worked as the assistant executive director of the National Football League Players Association. He also had his own commercial real estate development firm and represented professional sportsmen.
